Yesterday on Capitol Hill, more than fifty people attended a congressional briefing featuring Andy Speth, Deputy Chief of Staff to Speaker of the House Paul Ryan.
The event was organized by Midwest Council, the House Chiefs of Staff Alumni Association, and the House Chiefs of Staff Association. Joining Mr. Speth for the program were both co-chairmen of the Midwest Council, former US Senator from Nebraska, Ben Nelson, and former Governor of Wisconsin, Tommy Thompson.
Mr. Speth detailed the past, current, and future legislative initiatives in the House of Representatives, took questions related to the interests of members, and discussed the way he sees things playing out through the end of 2017. While, understandably, he could not speak about the specific intricacies of the upcoming tax reform proposal, he underlined the significance of tax reform and the importance of the forthcoming weeks in Congress.
